So, now the waiting begins ....

I closed the deal yesterday to trade in the LT for a Kristallgrau '07 GT with the new brakes and ASC, in full options. I have ordered the large topcase, with a painted lid to match the bike, as well. Delivery is scheduled for week 40.

:wtf Week 40, with the ASC?

Yeps. Only it will not be on the bike yet because it won't available till 2007.

As we learned from BMW NL yesterday, the ASC is only one button on the handlebar and software and can be retrofitted to the GT with the new brakes. As soon as it becomes available in spring '07 it will be fitted on my GT.

So, now the waiting begins ...

We had a lot of discussion at CCR if the ASC could be an after fact add on with the 07's.

Do you know if the button will already be on the handlebar, or if it needs to be fitted along with the computer upgrade?

What was that middle thang?

While preparing the order the dealer and I could not get any further specifications. Since the ASC hadn't been officially released for ordering we expect the button NOT to be on the bike yet.

"Well, how hard could adding a button be?", he said, uttering famous last words.

I'd expect quite simple, but .....

.... quite expensive, since a button never comes alone. Most likely it'll mean replacing a part of (or maybe even the entire) handlebar unit. My dealer will find out next spring
