accessory socket q's...

Hello,

I just picked up my new GT on Wednesday. I haven't tried on this bike, but on my 12GS the Gerbings jacket liner pulled too much juice through the power socket that the canbus would shut it off. Has that been rectified on the GT or do I need to install a direct wired power socket or the gerbing harness to the battery?

Thanks.

Matt

My dealer and most recommend you do. I put a second outlet next to the first using the spare knockout and ran it right to the battery, also use it for charging.

Great suggestion! I wish I would have thought of that. Routing the wiring could be a small challenge but it would resolve the Canbus issues. Would have saved me the cost of the new trick "Canbus" battery charger too. This is the reason I'm on this forum. :p

Routing the wire is actually pretty simple, you can come down from the battery and follow the frame member back and down to the outlet.
