Garmin 2730 XM Antennae Location

I ordered the Big Mac line of sight shelf with legs and Garmin mount. I'll put my new 2730 there and the V1. Can I mount the XM antennae on the angled part of the shelf, the part that slopes down towards the nose? Have any of you do this? Does the antennae have to be level? Is there room under the windshield? Thanks.

option 3

I ran the wire to the right and along the frame to come to rest UNDER the plastic. Tye wraped to a member and there it sits. You can't see it unless you take the plastic off. Satellite siggys go right through the plastic.

Got any pics??

I like the idea of not having it right up top and visible.

I had my antennae for the XM under the plastic nose of the LT. Kept getting drop outs real frequent like, moved it and they stopped. Mayhaps the tupperware is cheaper/thinner on the GT?

What was that middle thang?
