New member + new owner

I just purchased a fully loaded K1200GT in racer blue today, and said goodbye to my 2004 R1150RT with 51K on the clock. The short ride home was beautiful, this thing is a power house, much smoother than the RT was yet just as comfortable. If there is one thing I still miss about the RT, that would be the mirror placement. The tranny is smooth, very precise, brakes need some time to set but feel very strong. I think the wind management on the RT was better but I'll gladly surrender the comfort for the power

So any way, I've been lurking around here for a few weeks after I got the itch to buy a KGT, thought I would chime in.

Welcome to the "in" crowd. We have so many new GT owners, that we will be a force to be reckoned with. We know more about the GT than even the mothership BMW !

Stick around, as there is so much tinformation about this the GT that will not be found anywhere in the world.

I sold my 02RS to buy the GT because of the good folks hanging out here. I am very happy to be a proud owner of the GT, and it is so much better because of what I have learned here.

Happy riding.

Welcome Keith. Interestingly, I chose the GT over the RT because it had less wind management...the summer is too hot here in the SE USA!
Enjoy the rides, Greg

Congrats Keith

I'm only ahead of your pruchase by a week. At 300 miles, I'm sold (Not that I wasn't already) the bike will make you smile !!!!!!!!! It does everything well. I love the raw power to the rear wheel. Even a roadracer like me loves the lean angle, and with bags !!!!

Congrats on your purchase. Did you get it from Modesto or A&S in Roseville? Good luck and enjoy.
