Question Need advise -

How to make the bike more visible from the rear?
I think that the rear view of the bike with the side cases on is not quite well seen in the dark. One can see only the licence plate, the rear light and some light reflecting straps on helmet/jacket but nothing on the rear side of the cases. I noticed that some cagers react quite nervously - they realise pretty late that the bike is wider than they imagine.
How to make the cases more visible at night?

Take care!

Check out this site for black reflective tape. Black in the daytime, white reflective at night.

I put two diff types of reflective tape on the bags, and bought the Kisan licence plate holder with integrated led lights.

. . . problem is that one of the led's on the Kisan unit only functions sporadically, and I can't seem to find the time to demand a replacement. (Plus, I had it wired in by my BMW dealer, so don't relish trying to replace it myself).

I will try to take a photo later today. Maybe the flash will give a good indication of what it looks like at night.

Don, I got the same Kissan LED license plate that I installed myself as the good folks at Manhattan BMW did not want to do it anymore after your installation. It is very easy to disconnect if they did the original installation by the book.

In any case, Pirate has had a lot of problems with the units going bad after awhile, that he has discontinued selling it. I guess you can try Kissan for a replacement. Mine is still functioning OKay.
I would like more lighting....

Thank you guys for your input.

I also found on 3M site some reflecting tapes. Will try to find them here and see what it looks like. Also there is a difference between european and american versions : on the side cases you have yellow reflectors while we have BMW letters( non-reflecting).

Take care!

Interesting. I have the Kissan and have had no problems with it over the last couple months, 3K miles, I hope that luck holds.

I did have the Light Blazer on my F650 and my son still has his his Triumph. Mine went bad twice, and Phil II's has gone bad a couple times as well. They were great and have exchanged them every time, but it's was a PIA.
