Question (small) topcase question

Hi there,

has any bought a small topcase for their KGT-NG?
Does a helmet (Nolan N101-flip-up) fit in it?

Thanks for replies!

I can fit my Shoei XL helmet in the small top case.

I like this case. Fits securely to the bike and looks good. My wife also likes the attached backrest.

Make sure you have your dealer match the key to the topcase to your bike.

I purchased my top case with the bike so the $500 sorta disappeared into the deal. I know that you can purchase BMW OEM parts and accessories from Chicago BMW online or on the phone. Their web address is:

http://www.chicagobmwmotorcycle.com/parts.html

You get 20% off if you have the BMW part numbers in advance. That may make the outlay more bearable. Nothing comes cheap with this motorcycle.

Frans,

A friend of mine has the small topcase and his size "large" Nolan N101 does fit.

Thumbs up

First of all I want to thank you guys for the replies.

Man this forum is fast! The first reply came in 3 minutes after I posted my question!
This forum must be equipped with 150 bhp's, the same as........

I will definitely order a small top case. This will give me enough storage for the use I intend to. In the Netherlands it is allowed to drive in between two lanes in case of traffic jam. In english it's called lane splitting I think.

With a small top case installed I can leave the side cases at home but store the helmet in the top case when at work.

About the price; over here the price of the top case including proper lock and backrest is +/_ 369 Euros. (USD 440)
In Germany the price is only a little bit lower.

Thanks again!

Frans.

Pete,

You happen to have to part number? I look at IBM site, saw the case, but no part number.

Thanks.

I paid (at my local dealer):

$497 for small top case
$61.69 for lock cylinder
$78.99 for backrest.

Dealer gave me 10% toward purchase of something else in the future. As usual, no bargains available.

FYI...I have had a good experience with other parts from Chicago BMW. Ordered a NAV III from them. Got 20% off and it came within 2 weeks.

Small top case - on order

Chicago BMW all the way. Should have it for under $600 - Great shop, nice guys, worth the commute.
