I traded my 2000 K1200LT in Sept 2005 for a 2005 R1200RT, at HAPs Sarasota, with the BEST sales person in the world, Billy Hipsher.
I did not like the boxer engine and the lack of torque. The lower weight (640 vs 870) and increased HP (110 vs 100) were nice, but not the bike for me.
So Billy convinced me to "trade up" again, this time for 2006 K1200GT.
I sold the RT on the internet, and both buyer and seller are happy. YES, I did lose about $5K (only 4500 miles and 5t miles old), but that is the price you pay for progrees.
I ordered the new GT in March 2006. But BMW stopped making them, and I had to wait until I got a 2007 (same price !) in mid September.
Hap's is a great place to do business, and Billy Hipsher will work with any one to make sure the Buyer is happy.
I love my new bike. Except for the seat which I had already reshaped by a local seat shop, the horn which is worthless.
Any one in Florida ready to go cross-country ... ??? Or anywhere else that is NOT flat ?
