New Helmet Search

Hey Guys and Gals. I'm going helmet shopping soon to replace my tried and true Shoei RF-800. I've had flip ups before and I liked the feature, hated the wind noise. This was about 6 years ago so I know that things have improved since then. Any one have suggestions as to what brands and models with flip up I should check into?

And if this isn't the right forum please let me know and I'll take this thread to right place.

Shoei Multitec for 2007?

Dunno if they'll be any quieter than their current Syncrotec.

I like my Nolan 102 and I have heard good reviews of the Schuberth. That said my new Arai Profile is the quietist and most comfortable helmet I have ever used.

Thumbs up Caberg Helmet

If you are looking for a flip up I would suggest you check out the Caberg (formerly Jarrow and Arrow). You can google Caberg and read the write up. I have about 80,000 miles on mine, a little over three years, and would get another. Mechanism still working like new and I am really spoiled with the flip down sunscreen ala the Schubert, but at half the price.

I have the original concept, and it is a great helmet. I wear ear plugs, so what little wind noise is not noticable.
I think Schubert makes a great helmet, and will try another, I got the concept because I used to wear glasses.

Or you could do like I did about 2 months ago and get LASIK done, and now I see 20/15, and can wear any helmet I want.

Thanks for all of the comments. The Seattle International Motorcycle Show is coming up so I'll take all of your suggestions with me and check out the helmets.

And congratulations on the LASIK GTdavey! I've considered it many times and I may yet but I fly airplanes too and I'm just not confident that I'll get the results I need. Maybe one of these days
