Smile Real Competition For The GT?

Visited a Kawasaki dealer the other day to pick up a few parts for my KZP, and the lovely blue-eyed sales girl handed me a product information brochure for the new Concours 14!
Wow, what a motorcycle! It could be the next generation of sport-tourers. Since my local dealer went out of business and it's two hours to the BMW dealer, I may consider this 14 as my next sports-tourer.
It appears to have everything one would need. Doesn't give info on cruise or heated grips, but hopefully these will be available options.

Check it out on Kawasaki.com

Whata ya think?

Looks interesting. "The next generattion of sport-tourers"? What did they call it on their website? The "supercontinental" or was it "intercontinental"? Sorry, it was the "transcontinental supersport". A "whole new genre".

I don't see anything here to suggest it's a "next generation".

I guess imitation is the greatest sign of flattery.

Wonderful bike, but..... no cruise control? How can you transcontinental tour with cruise control?

Spoiled? You betcha.

At Motorman's suggestion I just checked out Kawaski's website for the latest and greatest sport tourer. It looks like their marketing department has totally jumped the gun. The bike isn't due until 2008. Other than the engine displacement and the claim that it's the most powerful sport tourer in the world, everything else is TBD. The photos even look like concept drawings. I'm not impressed with what they are showing of the bike and I hope that the raised lines on the saddle bags are supposed to be functional and not cosmetic.

I'll keep my KGT thank you.

According to kawasaki site. The bike is coming early 2007.

I think it's a pretty good looking bike, with ZX14 engine... Very nice.

I think the grill look thingy on the case is just in case the case came off while riding, it will stop in shorter distance than our GT Case....

Thanks for the correction. Early release of the 2008 model in 2007.
