+3,+4 or +5 Cee Bailey

I am just about to order a new CEE Bailey for my GT. I am 5'11" and would like some advise from those that may already have one installed. I will probably keep seat in low psition. I like some wind in my face with shield all the way down, but would like to look through the shield in case I am riding in the rain. My wife is about 5'6" and would like some protection from the wind when she is on the back.
I personally think the smaller I can keep the shield---the better it will look, as well as handle in the winds. I think I have already decided to only go with +2 on width.
Thanks for any advice you can offer.

I would say +4+2 would be ideal for you. I am 1" taller and it works great for me. All the way down and I get nice air. At 3/4 mast things are hitting the top of my helmet and I can still see over it when it is all the way up.

So I posted some pictures of a +5 +3 to show you the size. I'm 6' 4" with a 34 ineseam, maybe 33 With the seat in the low posistion (just switched today), very little noise all the way up. Can't say much about rain as it has not started hear yet, fact it was 88 degrees in the Napa Valley yesterday for a very gorgeous ride....

Couple points.

All the way down, I get a bunch of wind right at the top of my head.

THe clear is very clear, where I think the BMW has a very light tint to it.

I think I might have gone with a +2 width for looks note Gregs comments in the thread.

All and all I am very happy as the standard windscreen put a lot of wind right into my chest or top of helmet depending on posisition

I'm 6'3" and I ride tall. I have the +6+3, and like it a lot. But I got mine because Randy had it and I got it fast. (Didn't have to wait for CB to make me one.) If I was to order one from CB, it would be a +4+3. Judging by your height, I'd recommend a +3+2.

Rick, I have similar "dimensions" to you and I use a +4 +2. Works great. Lowest position allows wind to hit me in the face. About half way up blocks the wind completely.

Just placed the order for the +4/+2 shield from Cee Bailey. Thanks again for the responses.

I am new to this bike and new to BMW. I have been with Ducati for a long time. The buffeting on the GT is as bad as I have ever experienced. I have the tall windshield. Unless it is nearly all of the way up, the wind noise drowns out the motor. I only have a couple of hundred miles on the bike and it has been windy.
If I am correct, width will help withe buffeting. Heigth would seemingly not have that much of an affect. I am 5'9". Would I be looking at a windshield that id +2+3?
thanks for your help

If you have the tall windshield, +2 from CB will be the same hight as what you have. I would at least go +3 with the thought the the extra surface area would help stabilize the air flow better.
