Headlight trick

I see the GT does the same trick as my GS did with the headlight. Hold the turn signal cancel for 5 seconds - then the right turn signal for 5 seconds and the headlight shuts off and stays off until you restart. Any other dumb pet tricks this thing will do that anybody knows about?

Nice to know this... Don't know if I ever going to use it... May be stealth mode when safe... :p

This only turn off the headlight, signal and brake lights still work, correct?

Yep - marker lights stay on as well. It does come in handy sometimes as I live on the coast and sometimes the fog is so bad it's easier to just run with the fog lights on and get rid of the glare of the headlight.

I think this is more intended to be used when the bike is being worked on, and you don't want the headlight running.

If you hold the left turn signal for 5 seconds, the headlight will come on...

Doesn't work with mine. If I pres the left turn signal button (and keep it depressed), the only thing that happens is that the left turn signal starts blinking.

Has this been changed with the '07? Or am I missing something? Is it the HID?

Erwin

- Cancel button first for five seconds.

- Then, right turn signal button for five seconds.

Better?

That will teach me not to look at my notes before I open my yap!

I also was playing with it the other day, and realized it is only the low beam. It is the same control magic that keeps the headlight off until you start the bike I guess. I noticed my high beam works off the key, but the low beam stays off until I start the bike.

I don't have my bike with me to try this... It's at the dealer till next week...

So, if I hold the cancel for 5 seconds... then the right signal button for 5 seconds... Low beam goes off... High bean still on if I have it on? Correct?

Hold left signal button for 5 second, low beam came back on?

Thanks.

Well, that part works. But turning the low beam back on with the left signal button doesn't.
