First 400 miles

Took my shiny new CGM KGT for it's inaugural ride this past weekend. Even though the wind tried to blow me off the bike/road on Saturday I can only say this is one incredible bike. No question this is the best motorcycle I have ridden ever. I ought to just go ahead and sell all the other bikes because I can see I won't be riding them very much. I though the duc was a fun ride but this KGT is so MUCH better. So smooth, quick and great handling, I love it. Having recently attended two days of Reggie Pridmore's CLASS where he emphasizes smoothness; in acceleration, shifting, braking, etc, this bike is the answer to improving in smoothness. It makes everything easier. I was pleasantly surprised that the low speed throttle management was so much better than an 06 I rode a month ago. Must have been the updated software. Rode all types of roads this weekend from interstate to twisties (or at least what we in Fl have available, which isn't really much) and the bike performed flawlessly. I can't imagine how quick it will be once I am past the break-in period. I have no complaints, not even the seat (thats what they sell advil for), oh maybe one. I am afraid this bike will cause me to become a frequent client of "The Ticket Clinic", it is impossible to ride it slowly. The plan is to get initial service this Wed and then head out for a couple thousand miles and really get familiar with the bike. Love it, so much better than the RT.

Yes we will have to get together and ride some of these FL twisties. I think I will head towards TN, we have a cabin about 15 miles from the Dragon, so ride that and then maybe head to Ohio and visit friends and family. Of course it may be a little cold for that part of trip and not sure my heated liner will arrive in time.

have a wonderful ride
sounds like a great time
and....
there is no better bike to take on such a trip...
especially in the cold

the time we spent riding in the ice and snow at crater lake, oregon...
and the times at 12,000 feet in the sleet and ice in colorado...
on my R1100RT and K1200LT... were incredible
but, the KGT will be far superior to both in those environments

enjoy

from Crater Lake.... same picture of my avatar

Florida GT's

Hey David and Gregg. got my 06 GT a few weeks ago... love it. Traded my R90 S and R1100R for it. Plus some of that deflated US cash too ha. Anyway, mine is awaiting a Russell Day Long. As soon as it gets here (for the second time) I'm loading it on the trailer and heading for Frostproof For the winter. Hope to see you guys on the road sometime, mayber we can find some Fl twisties, or wherever....
