06 vs 07 lifetime rearend lube

Has anyone heard of any problems with the 06 GT's rear end due to not having an initial lube change at 600 miles. BMW for the 07's has shipped them with a lower grade oil and as part of the 600 mile service requires it get changed out and the good synthetic gets put in. At that point it is susposed to be good for life. Owning an 06 it has me a little concerned seeing they have the same exact rear ends.

No issues here. And because my dealership is so pro-customer, if something does happen I know that it will be taken care of.

PS My dealership is Nick's BMW in DePere WI. You can actually read about them in the current issue of ON.

My 06 K1200 GT is current in the shop...

According to dealer, the final drive was not put together correctly... Something about screws too loose...

Anyway, when dealer test drove my bike for other problems. They notice my rear wheel was wobbling and that how they found the problem.

The dealer changed mine out in my 06 at the 600 miles service. The check sheet they gave me with the service shows it getting changed every 12k or annually with it noted the minumum is every 24k or 2 years. I must have gotten one of the not for life units!
