Heli handlebar adapters

Has somebody out there installed the Heli handlebar relocation adapters on the 06GT? After reading the installation instructions I wasn't sure if I liked the part about possibly having to bend a fitting to get extra clearence on the brake cable in a full right turn. If so how big of a hassle was it. Thanks

Mine wasn't a problem at all. No bending needed, I tugged up on the hose a bit. They also mention loosening the brake banjo bolt and rotating the hose if needed. I didn't need to do anything.

I did get some of those little chrome snap-in covers for the two bolts (from the Harley dealer) just to dress it up a bit. Nicely made unit.

Its no hassle at all, a slight tweak in the desired direction does the trick ... repositioning the angle on the banjo bolt is also no big deal.

Although I got my dealer to do the fitting (just in case of any problems) all they had to do was reposition the cables slightly to ensure there was no snagging on full lock. Other than that the fitting was straightforward.

Just so you know, it looks like the Wunderlich folks are about to release a similar product. It is different in that it maintains the adjustability feature of the original BMW design for the handlebars. Wunderlich makes very high-end product. Check out BMW Santa Cruz for details and a link to the Wunderlich site.

Where is that? Can't find any mention of the product on Santa Cruz or Wunderlich DE sites.
