Corbin Update and another KGT search

Just one more week and I'm on may way to Hollister, CA to pick up my bike at Corbin. I've been told that the seats will be ready less connections to the factory seat heating system. It seems that the Beemer connectors are proprietary and Corbin's seat heater specialist can't find a source yet. And apparently the smuggler option still needs some design work too but I want my bike back so here's an opportunity for some other lucky KGT owner. If someone else can loan Corbin their KGT for about 4 to 5 weeks to complete the smuggler design, they'll get a production smuggler free. Just let me know through a PM or post if you're interested.

I'll take plenty of pictures of the seats when I pick up my bike for posting with my ride report after I get back to Portland. On my way out of the Bay area I'm stopping in at Santa Cruz BMW for an oil and filter change before heading home. I just have to avoid the urge to find more things that I can't live without while I wait!

Tell me aabout it John. The HD guys are so lucky, hell, they could drop in a dealer and spend a grand in less than 15 minutes on add-on chrome, billet aluminum mirrors, Thunderballs (?) wheels, all kinds of neat stuff. In fact the newer, latest and greatest HD shops now have the 'chrome' shop to assist in making your bike just like everyone elses. Hell, we only have Smugglers, electronics, (wheels, ME), and gadget holders. Woe is me . . . uhhhh, let's see, all new chrome side panels, no ugly sand cast aluminum handlebars, solid-polished stainless, wow!

Never considered chrome side panels before but that could really be the next big thing for the KGT! The large surface area will make them pricy and you'll be the first suspect if riding anywhere close to a brush fire on a sunny day but what the hell, a guys gotta do what a guys gotta do to look cool right?!? I'll think on this some more later. Right now I've got to get my new handle bar grip tassles ordered.

Dood! I've said it before and it's worth repeating: If I never polish another piece of chrome in my life, that will be way too soon.

What was that middle thang?

I don't think BMW rider like chrome very much.

May be that's why BMW stop selling R1200C :p

Probably that too... One of my friend used to have one... I kept teasing him that James Bond was riding that thing and can't get away from bad guys in cars and SUVs cause it got no guts.... :p

He traded it in for a 06 R1200GS a few months ago.
