By Old Friend-Hello New Devil Dog

My fist post on this forum. Came from the Lt and Adventure Rider forum. Got rid of my 99 LT Thurs. and drove a new 07 Graphite back from the Bentonville Ar dealer to Tulsa. Wow is all I can say. The twisties in Arkansas were a TAD FASTER I must say. The seat SUCKS, but thanks to you guys, I knew about it. I would like to do a ride in to one of Mayer bros. in CA, but Honestly from Tulsa, it might take me a month :wtf After reading Jeff's, Griff's and Randy's post, looks like 4 x 2 Cee Bailey will work. Lowered the handle bars after reading Griff's post on how it helped. Will try after it warms up today. Didn't buy the Nav. III after reading some of the Negative posts. If anyone has any thoughts about what to buy, please do so. I'm a GPS novice, so I don't know if I would use all the neat new Blue Tooth stuff. One thing for sure, I quickly need to spring for a Radar Detector. I'm thinking a escort. Any suggestions on what mount.

Will any way, kind of a long post, but very excited

By the way, I have a fantastic 05 GS with all the trimmings for sale, No Devil Dog, but Could be the Son OF.

I'd suggest that you get some idea of mounting points and such before selecting the GPS and radar detector. It might limit your choices on which ones to buy.

They do cut thru the BS pretty quick over there, but they don't mind helping when you ask. Sometimes.

I've tried several combos, but now use and like a shelf from Bik Mak, above the instruments, with an escort 3500 in a radar box from Pirate. I think there should be enough room for a gps as well. I like the radar mounted for line of sight reasons, and was easy to wire through the bezel around the instruments.

Try the Tomtom Rider. Its relatively cheap, waterproof and efficient, and it comes with a mount that fits the GT great.

Garmin 2730

I have it. It's easy to use and holds tons of music plus XM is available. The XM will entertain you for your ride in.

I agree with the roads in AR, I took a trip up through the ozarks this summer on my '04GT. In the spring when I get my new bike, I'll be doing the ride in to Russell. You can tag along if you think you can keep up. We could get there from AR in an easy day and half.

Best,

Gravity
