Chuck to the white courtesy phone- Stebel

Ok, Chuck, I installed the Stebel today and didn't hang it off my neck, etc. The site isn't letting me up load pics, so you'll have to wait.

I installed it on the right side, made a bracket and the dayem thang will make your ear's bleed.

For those of you who can't get to the OEM horn: Take the two screws out that hold the ZFE in place (that's the aluminum box looking thang) and let it dangle. There are two clips by the orange, one on top and one on bottom, depress and pull these out. the air box and snorkle assembly will then pull off. You'll find horn on the other side of the frame. Unplug it and have your way with the wiring. Be sure to use dielectric grease before plugging it back in. Wish I could post my pics.

BTW, I used a waterproof relay bought here, real cheap and attached it to the top screw of the ZFE. They also have the harness for the relay, real cheap.

All in all, it was fun. Did I mention the dayem thang was loud?

What was that middle thang?

DAMN! Wish I could see the pics! I'm dyin' to see where you hung that thing.
OK thanks. The description of how to get to the horn will help. Now I have to wait another week until my weekend rolls around, but your post seems to make it do-able.

I reckon I should add that I used the bottom screw of the ZFE for the horn bracket, which ended up being a Z.

Funny this should come up. I never figured out how to put this horn on my RT. I figure I'll go with the LT horns on the GT so I replaced my whimpy "excuse me" horn on my Nissan Frontier just yesterday No whimpy horn now. These Stebels are loud!!

OK, I'm a wuss, I admit it. I went in to my dealership this morning and talked to the Service Manager (who was working on an authority bike while we talked), and he said to come back tomorrow morning and he'd wire my horn. I'm thinking about having him wire a battery-direct extra outlet at the same time. So sometime tomorrow I'll let you guys know how loud it is, positioned as I have it.

What does a picture of a horn sound like?

PS... Most of us old guys are hard of hearing. If Chuck says it's
loud... it must be REALLY loud.
