The new Connie

I am SOOO glad that I bought my GT when I did. Half of me wanted to buy the GT, while the other half was thinking that I should wait until the new Connie was released. That half would still be waiting. Meanwhile, those poor guys with their deposits down on the C14 might not see their new bike until Fall of this year. Bummer.

Well, I'm in that half that's STILL waiting. And growing more impatient daily.

The "official" word from Kawasaki to the dealers, in the form of a memo, was a June release. Rumors I hear now are a Sep release. If it's delayed until Sep, I may just hang on and see if BMW offers one of their killer interest rate deals in Oct....or try to find a screaming deal on a used GT.

I was in the same boat as you until they confirmed the gas tank size was going to stay the same as the ZX14, which eliminated it from my list. Now that I've put some miles on the new GT I know I made the right decision.

Another thing that's starting to give me second thoughts is the maintenance. It may be true that there are Big K dealers everywhere, but are the wrench jockeys going to know how to work on this thing?

Brought home my GT 7.7.06, and riding it as often as weather and business allow. I will ride the new KAW when it arrives. I've owned two KAWS and both were flawless. Waiting sucks.

Doug, I feel your pain. Waiting for motorcycling Nirvana hurts.

I also am anxious to ride the new KTM Super Duke. My pals at KTM say it will out run the Ducati 1098 while giving better rider ergos. We'll see about that. I hear the KTM will be ready for bags.

Joe, glad you talked to Mark. Pop in to visit, if the snow ever stops. We have a KTM sitting here in the lobby now.

Well, a friend just bought a 1098 and LOVES it! With one exception: it will sometimes die at stop lights/signs. Most of the time it will restart - other times he has to wait about 15min before it will restart. It's back in the shop now to find out why.

Have your friend check out www.ducati.ms. I seem to recall a separate 1098 discusson forum, so I'll bet anything amis is listed there.
