Talking This Is So Cool

When my son was of driving age in high school and needing transportation, I sold him my Suzuki 650cc inline four, shaft drive bike. You all know what that did to him, right? Now it's a bunch of years later, and his wifey gave him the green light to buy a bike. He called me this morning to tell me he just bought an '07 GT just like mine. Wow! I'm already thinking about road trips. I can't wait to get a pic of us on matching GTs to post here.

That's awesome!!!
Any day spent above the sod is better than being below it.
Especially riding side by side with your son on 2 GT's

Very, very cool.

My son is 17. I am still on the uncool list.

Not necessarily.

You could be on the "cool, but no way in hell I'll admit it" list.

My older son(33) drives a Harley V-Rod decorated with Capt America fcolors, USA style. Thenoise from the mufflers is deafening, so I ride in front or alongside. My youner 30 year old drives a BMW 1200C circa 1999.

As my wife says: "This is a true mothers nightmare, husband and sons on bikes".

Secretely, I think she likes it ,as she waves whenever we get together to do a family ride. Son's spouse and my wife do not ride, but other son's girlfriend ( soon to be spouse) loves to ride..

Besides family dinners, this is a very good way to get our family together and nice weekends..

I wasn't on the "cool" side with my son when he was 17 either, now he is 21 and and what a turnaround. He even called me when he was on spring break from UT two weeks ago and ask if I like to go to Helen GA with him over the weekend. Him on his 600RR and me on my GT. We had a great time.
Last year we spend two weeks in Europe to ride in Germany Austria Switzerland and Italy and loved every minute of it.

Just wish I could ride like him.

Well, my son turned 37 last January, and I am very proud of him. I could carry off this thread a while talking about him.

After he sold off the Suzie, he never had another bike, but you know how it is when you have one at an early age... you never get over it. Wifey finally told him he could get one, so he decided he should go big. He was already familiar with Beemers because of me (his first time looking at a speedo at 100mph was looking over my shoulder while on the back of my R100/7), so he was naturally drawn to the marque. He rode my new GT a while back and came back drooling and wild-eyed.

I'm hoping to post a pic next week of the two of us standing next to our (matching) bikes somewhere out on the Ortega Highway.

That's awesome. I can't wait for the day when my son is old enough to ride as a passenger.
