rear drive oil change??

I had my rear drive oil changed yesterday. Dealer had it done in less than a hour. My question is: can the oil be changed without him taking the rear wheel off? I am just trying to determine if the change was done properly or just done as quickly as possible. I was told the oil looked like it was new. (had 1500 miles on it)
I guess I should of asked him how much fluid he put in it after he drained it.

Can be done with the rear wheel in place, but you would have to suspend the bike much higher the the air. Or, if your newer model has a drain plug.

Otherwise it is easiest to do with the wheel off. It only takes about another 5 minutes to remove the rear wheel on an R or S. Not sure about the GT.
