mileage to break'in

06 K1200GT 2000mls.
When is the approx. mileage the Gt's motor is broken in at to change oil to synthetic oil. I've been using Amsoil for years in Harleys, and i'm sure the Mobil 1 oils are OK. Till then, I could use Belray's non-syn 10-40 moto oils.

Well; what the dealer sold me was the BMW non-syn 10-40 special performance. If you use the Castrol; Where do you buy it?

My dealer said to wait until 12000 miles before going to syn. It has BMW 10W-40 in it right now. I really don't care when it goes to syn. and neither does BMW.

I buy it at my local and favorite shop nearby.

California Sport Touring

I don't see it on the website, but give them a call if you are looking for it. I just grabbed a case from him last week.

I know Cycle gear and several other places have it online, but I don't internet shop unless I have to...

Not sure if It was right or not but I changed to all syn at my 6000 mile service. You can't tell me that this bike is not broken it by now. I will tell you one thing my GT slides in and out of gears a lot easier than before.
