Rack for top box

I don't know if anyone has done this, but I wanted a rack for the top of my smaller topbox for the extra stuff. This one is Givi E96. Trim down some plastic or aluminum spacers, add some rubber wwashers at the base of the spacers to seal the holes, drill the holes and bam!

Although I've sprayed furniture finish for years, this was my first time with auto lacquer. Nice stuff. BTW - the Colorite listed for the bMW blue is not the right color blue. I may have to respray it once I find the right color.

I also couldn't reisist doing my flat black helmet to match. Left it flat on the lower and just did above the line, just like the bags. I think it alll came out well.

Bob,

What a terrific looking job!! And what's interesting, is you've come up with a nice solution that avoids using the "large" topcase altogether while providing what's probably similar carrying capacity. Really nice.

Nice job! What kind of seat you are using - I could see only a small part of the rear one on the pic, can't tell?

Take care!

Backwards?

Hmmm...

I guess that shows why I should leave stuff like this to others, as I would have put the rack on facing the other way!

It's a Rick Myers - he recovered the back rest as well. The basket weave fabric is nice as I don't slide around quite as much as I did with the stock seat.
