Pannier Protection kit

Greetings gents!

Can someone tell me if the BMW Pannier Protection kit (shown below) is a cover that fits over the entire painted surface or is it just the rubber bumper looking thing on the bottom of the case? I'm sort of hoping it's the entire cover, but from this pic I just can't tell...

Just the bottom black bit. Runs $75 each side retail, $60 through Chicago BMW online. Fits new K12GT, R12RT, R12ST.

Pannier Protection Kit

Hi All! Have been a lurker here 3 years. First post!!! So...a big "Hello" to one and all!
I have these on my Crystal Gray '06. They are as in the photo on Nexus' post. I put 'em on to protect edge of bag when I remove them and set them down. Also hoping they may deter some of the rock and other pitting during normal travel and wear and tear.

Protection Kit

I am still working on the protection kit for the bags. design phase almost completed. still awaiting my supply of material from vendor ?
