Thumbs up Got my Corbin Smuggler!

Hello All,

Just wanted to share the latest addition to my 06 KGT. Corbin made a perfect CGM color match and it fits perfect too! I attached one before and several after photos. Corbin really came through on this one!

If I may be so bold.. a suggestion... when you get a chance, take a drill or Dremel and drill some tiny drainage holes (perhaps 1/16th or smaller) in the very bottom of the Smuggler..You'll never see them through the material. First find the lowest section on the inside then drill maybe 3 or 4 on each side...

The reason being.. (and I learned this the hard messy way..) Corbin in all their wisdom didn't put vent/drainage holes in the bottom. If you have a coke, Mountain Dew, or Chevas in there and the bottle leaks or worse.. the top comes off.. you'll create a small wading pool and everything in there will be floating when you stop. If you add your own drainage the spillage will flow right out the bottom ... Trust me.. sooner or later you'll be glad you did.

Hey Pirate, thanks for the tip. I hadn't consider the wading pool possibility but in lieu of my usual bottle of Dom Perignon, even a couple of leaking water bottles would sure make a mess. I think I'll take your idea a step further and install a small drainage hose that will extend below the rear splash guard.

Florian, the Smuggler is a personal one up day trip selfish self centered storage indulgence instead of using a tank bag. I have the large top box and the large storage bag too for the two up haul everything trips.

Take care guys and ALWAYS enjoy the ride!

I wish I could get one of those but it looks like you have to also install their front seat also - bummer. I just bought (and am partial to) a Sargent front replacement.

Anyone ever successfully rig one to work with the stock front seat, or another seat altogether?

I like it. It looks pretty good, but I really want the functional part.

May I trouble you or a picture with it and the top case installed?

Nexus-6, it may be possible but I've never heard of a mix and match seat set up from two different seat makers.

BeniciaRT, no trouble at all. I'll put the large top case on tonight and post the pictures tomorrow. Curious about that too.

John,

Do you have your stock seat still?

I know their website says their stuff doesn't mix and match with the stock seats but can you see just how this interferes with the stock front seat, perhaps with a pic? Maybe it actually does work with the stock front seat?
