Thumbs up 1,200 miles on the GT in 19 hours...

...and I stopped to get a tire installed in Nebraska. So what's all this talk about the new GT not being a long-distance tourer? Oh, and did I mention that this was the last day of an 8K-mile ride around the States?

Quite frankly, I'm impressed with the scooter myself.

And all with a stock seat.

You're the Man, Joe. 2 X 500 miles on my stock seat and I was ready for a handicapped permit. Since the Kontour re-fit and just getting used to a different bike I'm planning some longer rides this year.

Thanks for sharing the trip - when you can't get out right away and do that sort of thing, it's really great to read about someone else's adventures

+1

Great job Joe and superb sharing.

BTW, your seat is the "new" GT seat, right? I remember your dealer did the upgrade for you from the origional, right?

My seat is off of an '07, but I don't think that it is the newly redesigned '07 seat. My dealer only replaced the rider's seat, and not the pillion. Had it been the newly redesigned model, both would've needed changed at the same time. Make sense?

Kudos, just Joe!

I am back from our 10 day trip to the Alps - not so long and not so fast because of borders crossings - only about 7000 km( 4000 mi).And the aim was not mileage but the passes in Austria - we did Grossglockner, Nockalm, Gerlos and Solkpass. Will write a report soon.
and the seat was Sargent - I simply forgot about the seat, did not notice it :-))

Take care!

Yeah, yeah....easy to do to an unsuspecting victim. I would have been impressed if you caught up with me on the PCH, but you obviously caved and decided it was futile! So I guess the attachment stands.
Nevertheless, it was enjoyable to meet and ride with you.
Milkstud...I like that.
