City Lids For J-Low are in the house

The City Lids from France arrived this PM by of all things Snail Mail. One week from the e-mail from the French Dealership, when they said -Shippin out on the 15th.
Install took 30mins. You have to drill holes for the hinges in the new lid. Just lined up the old hinge onto the new lid and used it as a guide. The plastic is well- thin. But when you close the lid its ok. No, my helmet will not fit in there anymore. You don't want to drop her with these lids as it will be CRACK. But she's not an LT and it's no problem. ( Just kidding you LT folks ) . As you can see in the pics ,J-Lows rear has gone under a substantial reduction--about 3' on either side. Very svelte now. If her front gets thru, I know her rear will.
Save the plastic sleeves from the lids as they make a nice storage bag for those expensive painted ones.
Is it worth the $$--probably not. But she looks soooo much better walking away.

Thanks for the pics, and the update. Happy for ya.
But with all due respect, the GT looks plain silly from the back now. Not that everything has to be about looks. I'm sure the functionality factor is what you're really after.

Yea, I know. Like getting a butt reduction but still havin sillycone 44D's--symmetry is off. On the other hand, no sweat splittin in stop-go traffic. When I don't need the room the top box will stay home.

I didn't have any trouble lane-spitting with the sidebags and topbox on. If the mirrors can fit, the rest will fit. But whatever... If you're more confident and comfortable, that's all that matters.

Steamer trunk--now that's funny. Actually the camera slightly distorts the size of the steamer. Gotta have room fer stuff. Hold on. Pics coming.

I think the City Lids fit the overall profile of the bike much better. And maybe the 28L trunk would be less steamer-ish. But I like the huge carrying capacity, so it's function over form for me.

What is the difference in width of the bike (oem lids compared to city lids)?
