Cee Bailey cracked

I noticed my Cee Bailey +6 +0 cracked yesterday. (2007 GT) I've only had this windscreen about a month and barely 800 miles on it...What's the deal with these things? Unlike some of you guys, I live in the inner city and rarely ever see very much speed. Its rare I ever get over 75 - 80 mph.

How many of you guys have had their windscreens crack?

In my case it was fully up and like I said, I hit a burst of about 110 into a 40 mph head on wind. I have yet to call CB, but from what I here they will probabaly tell me to get bent........

I'm going to call them later in the day. I suggest you do the same today too. Having two seperate parties calling regarding the same issue with the same product, on the same day may make them recognize that this is a serious issue.

Just out of curiosity, how thick is yours? 3/16 or 1/4 ?

My +6+3 cracked.
My +4+3 hasn't cracked in over 10K miles. And rumor has it that it's been tested at above speed limit speeds. But I'll never tell.

My +6/+3 3/16 thick cracked at 150 mph when fully up. Cracks on both sides are 3" long.
Have a +4/+3 on order now and explicitly demanded the newer thickness of 1/4, as advertised on the CB website. I tested one from a friend and the screen doesn't bend and flutter as the 3/16 did.

Rgds

I hope that Cee Bailey's aircraft windshields are more reliable than their motorcycle products...

I think this new GT shield has introduced a brand new issue for Cee Bailey's that they've NEVER experienced before. I know hundreds (if not thousands) of LT and GS owners who own their shields and I've never heard of one cracking. Perhaps the GT presents a challenge like no other motorcycle before.

I have full confidence the CB will 'make it right' with customers that experience issues with their shields, and that they will figure out the proper thickness so it stops happening in the future. Perhaps the newer 0.25 thickness is that solution.

Yup mine cracked and I called them.

I was told that they weren't designed for high 'European' speeds as the guy put it. I said it wasn't fit for purpose.

Anyway, they weren't prepared to offer any sort of replacement or refund. He told me to drill a hole at the inboard end of the crack to stop it spreading and goodbye.

I'd think bloody hard about getting into an aeroplane with one of their screens.

Simon.
