Which Bluetooth Headset / Mic?

Got my new Zumo 550 the other day and took it out for a test run yesterday...worked great, i'm happy to say. So if I wanted to go bluetooth and install a wireless headset / mic combo in my full-face helmet, what are people's experiences with these things, good and bad?

...enter something catchy here....

You will get lots of ideas or people are just tired of the whole bluetooth thing. But, check out www.zumoforums.com for some good info. I know the stuff works, but it can get aggravating finding the right combo.

I have a Cardo Scala Rider teamset.

It works OK for the GPS voice prompts and for rider/passenger intercom, but I keep loosing the connection with my V3 Motorola.

The audio quality to listen to MP3 is terrible, but I guess itīs the same for any bluetooth device since itīs mono audio.

As for me, I ended up changing to a helmet that had BT integrated. Nolan makes a decent helmet, a little warm though.

Me too for the Scala Rider. But having said that, there was a post from Sydneyguy who was having a problem pairing his Nokia (something) to the Scala Rider, and he later discovered the problem was that the Scala Rider used BT 1.0 and his new gear was 2.0. So it pays to do a little research with what it is you intend to pair with what.

scala-rider Headsets compatibility

The scala-rider line of Bluetooth headsets are all compatible with the Nokia Navigator, and any other phone that supports the Headset/Handsfree Bluetooth profiles.

Bluetooth version (1.0, 1.1, 1.2, 2.0) is not a problem, as all newer Bluetooth versions are backwards compatible with older Bluetooth versions.

The scala-rider headsets use Bluetooth 1.2.

If you are having problems pairing the headset to your Nokia, please contact Cardo Systems at the Cardo Support Center. We will gladly assist you in troubleshooting this process.
