Mounting a Zumo 660 on a K12RS 1999

Hello,

I have just ordered a Zumo 660 and (oh dear) a ScalaRider. I would really appreciate advice on mounting the 660. I am tall;6'4" and tour with a very full Baglux on the tank.

Also, I have belatedly learned that the Scala is not water proof.

Many thanks

I'm hoping to go collect my new (old) K1200GT as soon as the snow melts and have been thinking about this. FWIW I already have an R1100GS and on that have the Zumo mounted so its above the clocks - this seems to me the ideal placement. Looking around I came across a mount that places the Zumo in a similar position with a bar that bolts on with no faffing about. From Hornig in germany.

This is how it looks on my old GS - I expect similar results on the GT.

They accept Paypal which makes buying from them a lot simpler. (Ive dealt with them in the past)

Hope that helps.

Just thought i should update my answer.

In the event. The bike I have bought has come complete with the original BMW sat-nav mount for Garmin.

exploded diagram and part numbers for your RS - here: http://tinyurl.com/btvhhdl

On the bike it looks like this - Im just waiting for a new powered cradle to arrive so it can be fitted and wired-in.

If.. it turns out i can't get on with the Zumo in this position - then I'll move it and use the mount I mentioned in my previous post.

Thats the set-up I use. Works like a charm. I'm 6'3" and I can read it easily even ove my tank bag

Motorcycling is not, of itself, inherently dangerous.
It is however, extremely unforgiving of inattention, ignorance, incompetence or stupidity.
