Instructions for NAV III

Hi Guys,

Ordered a NAV III for my '07 K12GT (on order...not here yet). Question: Does the NAV III and brackets come with installation instructions? I hope to install it myself and save some $$$. I can't remember if other accessories I have bought for BMWs come with instructions.

Thanks. Mike

Essentially, no. And the user manual is utterly useless.

Check out my posting in the classifieds and you'll see how all of the pieces come together.

The wiring harness in the pictures should be included in the box with your Nav III. It plugs into an outlet that is ziptied under the battery cover (Two screws to remove the battery cover).

The BMW GPS mount may or may not be included with your Nav III. You'll need it to attach the cradle to your handlebars. (Two screws out to remove the existing plastic cover under the handlebars, four screws in to attach the new cover).

Your cradle looks just like the Garmin one pictured, except for the four buttons to the left. The round plug that I've taped off in my installation plugs into the back of your Nav III cradle, to enable those buttons to work their magic. (Four screws to mount the cradle to mount.)

It should be a piece of cake to install. Put the battery cover back on and you're ready to go. (Grand total = 10 screws.)
