Anyone here own a Escort Redline?

They offered me a trade-up ($80 for my old Escort 8500x50) so I bit. Wonder if this is better?

Got to use it on my 1,000 mile trek this week. Very nice performance and range and it alerted me well in advance of the cops I encountered. So much so, that when it beeped, they were far away and out of sight before they even appeared. I saw on their website where either Popular Mechanics or Popular Science gave it some 13 mile range (which I find hard to believe, but still it does have a nice range alert).

While in Chico, CA I was talking to the cook at the hotel's restaurant during breakfast. He got nabbed for a mere 3 mph over (68 in a 65 MPH zone on Hwy. 99) and it cost him $300 with court fees added on. The bigger fish was that he did a rolling stop right-turn at a signal and swung into a mini-market for coffee on his way to the restaurant at 5 AM and a city cop met him on the way out. Ticket was $370 and it's posted on traffic signs in Chico, but all the extra court fees they added on cost him $900. Ouch!

Guess the state will bail itself out soon at those rates.

Bloody sensitive thing!

This Redline thing alerts to Instant-On radar almost 50 seconds on the highway before he even sees the cop in the median.
