"Christening the new Forum"

i suppose that this area should initiate with a Valentine One vs. Escort 8500 X50 or Bel Pro RX65

that always seems to get folks talking

Let's assume we have one of the above. Where's the best place to mount it on a GT?

I would very much like to hear what the pros and cons are of both the V1 & Escort 8850.

Can't tell you anything about the Escort, but the V1 saved my butt a couple times. And what is the coolest thing is that it tell you if the boogie(contact) is in front of you, to your side, or to the rear. Makes a huge difference when you are out in KS I can tell you!

I don't think you can go wrong with either one of them. They both have their merits. I think the V1 is great for a car/truck. I believe the escort is better for the bike. The V1 gives more info on the front display but I don't look at the display on the RD on the bike. I just listen for the audio warning.
htheater has both and he likes them both also.

Check out pirates site, he has a really slick mounting device for the detectors. I fashioned my own using a piece of angle iron, actually made of aluminum, that spans across the windshield brackets.

that company's reputation....
check into it
you don't want any part of them (and i'll be nice and just say that)

the only detectors you should consider these days:
Valentine One
or Passport 8500 X50 or Bel RX65 (these are the same detectors, made in the same factory with little difference between them)
