Question Autocom with ear buds

I am just installing a new Autocom Pro 7 system. My problem is that I really only want to be able to:

1. Listen to music on long trips and be interupted when my radar detector goes off.

2. Ride with radar detector that I can hear through my ear buds.

I don't plan to use the microphone or install the helmet speakers. The only cord I want to come into my helmet is the ear bud cord.

What I'd like to do is plug into a micro stero jack with my ear buds. No helmet installation. No large cords or connectors hanging from me or my bike.

Has anyone done anything like this? How did you make the connector?

Check out Autocom part #26 (I think). It allows you to plug in your earbuds. I'd guess you could leave out the mic and just use your earbuds.
Sounds like you could have accomplished the same thing with a Mixit. http://www.mixitproducts.com

Yeah, I guess the Mixit would have been better. Looks like I went overboard, as usual. I wasn't aware of the Mixit when I made the choice.

Since I've already bought the Autocom I've decided to use both my helmets and rig one with an ear bud only cord, the other with a full intercom set-up. That will come in handy when MSO rides along.

Thanks
