Helmet Headset Installation

I know there was a link posted either here or on the old community about installing headesets into various helmets. I've searched and can't find it. Anyone recall or have the link?

Lacking that, I've been searching for info on the web for removing parts from an Arai helmet (such as the inner chin cover). I'm wanting to totally hide the mic rather than surface mount it.

Thanks!

Check the Autocom UK website (don't think it's in the US site). They have installation instructions for a # of major helmets, Schuberth, Arai, Shoei, etc.

Thanks, Doug.
Took a look there earlier, and it doesn't have Arai-specific info. The cheek pads aren't an issue - I have those out regularly for a mild washing. I know there's got to be a way to get the liner in the chin area out but can't see how.

Sorry to state the obvious but have you checked the Arai site?

I'm glad you are being careful because some padding is glued (like an old Shoei that I had) and it can be destroyed by removal. A lot of stuff now is velcroed in but that shit sticks like crazy in a helmet where its hard to get any leverage. Some of the inexpensive or moderate price helmets are also snap fitted.

If you can't find anything, I'd suggest pulling at a padding edge only at one place to try to determine if it is glued or not. I'd bet that it is not a snap fit pad because those are normally loose at the edges.

I'll dig around and see if I can find any thing for you. Good luck!

From the Autocom UK site. Not a lot of detail, but they show instructions for Arai helmets in this doc.
