My first oil leak! Advice needed.

Prior to this week I have been using the K as my daily driver so it has been getting a lot of daily use. Having recently replaced the transmission in the Jetta, and with the onslaught of rain and cold weather, my bike has been sitting for the past week(resting).

Today as I ventured into the garage to find my lucky purple sweater, I was astonished to see a small pool of mechanical blood pooled under my K's belly.

Please advise as to what this might be; my guess, since I had the bike sitting on the side stand, oil has crept into the combustion chamber and found its way out the exhaust port.

I know these bikes have a tendency to collect oil in the chamber, but enough to leak out the exhaust port?

Also, I thought this problem had been rectified in later years with different rings or what have you. Could the weight or blend of my oil contribute to the leak?

Thanks for the help every one, let me know what you thing and enjoy your week!

So it's coming out of the exhaust outlets? Retorque those bolts. If it's still leaking then you might need new header seals.

I leave all of my Ks on the side stand for extended periods and they don't leak a drop.

Duck to the rescue. I thought it was unusual! I will torque and replace the seals if needed. Typically oil would leak into the headers, not out of them, correct?

Is this the correct part number if I need seals: 11627662083 ?
