Recent K75 Purchase

Hi fellow BMR'rs, Im new to your forum, so thanks in advance for any help you may give.
I recently purchased a used (and abused) K75. It runs great, trans, brakes, tires, etc are fine, but the sheet metal and plastic is either missing or abused. So, am stripping it down to frame, replacing everything that needs to be replaced and will take out the dents and repaint it.
My question is how do I know what model this bike is? K75 What? Im assuming there were several models K75R, K75C????
thanks ron

Here is some info on our bike on Wikipedia that should help:

Please post a picture when you get a chance.

Look at the title to see what the model is. There's basically four models of the K75: the "nekked" K75, the K75C, the K75S and the K75RT.

Naked (with low seat option)

K75C:

K75S:

K75RT:

There was also a US-only model called the K75T that's a naked one with a handlebar mounted windscreen.

I looked at the title and it doesnt have a model on it. I believe that the bike is the standard K75, because it has no fairing and looks exactly like the K75 picture.

thanks ron

what model

I believe there's a web form on line into which you can enter the VIN and then the program behind it will tell you year and model. Anyone know where that is?

Googled some VIN decoders up. Here's one: http://www.motoverse.com/tools/vin/bmw.asp

Unmitigated risk aversion is the new Puritanism, complete with witch hunts, funny outfits, and solemn preachers thundering doom. The name of God is changed to Safety; the name of Satan is changed to Lawyer; but the object remains the same: to suck all the life out of life and make you live on the husk.

Are you sure your title doesn't say "K75" on it somewhere? If so then that's the model.

BMW VIN decode: http://www.bmw-z1.com/VIN/VINdecode-e.cgi

Note that the model year is generally the manufacturing year plus one.
