does shorter bike = shorter shock

Ocelot is a 1990 K75C with a shortened stance. She needs a new shock. Progressive lists two:series 412 shocks. One is 14" long; the other is 13 1/4" long. Does she need the shorter one? How can I tell?

TIA

Unmitigated risk aversion is the new Puritanism, complete with witch hunts, funny outfits, and solemn preachers thundering doom. The name of God is changed to Safety; the name of Satan is changed to Lawyer; but the object remains the same: to suck all the life out of life and make you live on the husk.

Put it on the center stand and measure eye to eye.

Either shock will work. If the bike feels a little tall and you have the 14", you could go with the shorter shock. Or visa-versa. One downside of the shorter shock is the bike is harder to get up on the centerstand. But it won't lean as far on the side stand.

matter of fact...

Matter of fact, I did measure it. 14". But I thought the weight of the wheel and drive train might be extending it a little. I may try the shorter one, if I can find it at a a good price. MAW has the 14" for $200.
