Well, I bit the bullet today and decided to pull the injectors and have a look since everything else tested ok.
Pulled them out and they were BROWN. I put my multimeter on and they tested 16 ohm, so in specs. I put my test probe on and gave it 12v and no click of anything. Looking at the nozzle end of the injector, It's not been firing as it's not damp or anything, so i assume junk.
Just priced up new replacements and cheapest BMW peoples prices was £75 each ( $114 each) + 20% TAX (damn the government
) = £90 each ($136) I got out a injector catalogue i had knocking about and found two replacements with identical resistance and flow rate.
bosch, 0280 150 208 and 0280 150 211
Little bit of research later and found they are fitted to a selection of american vehicles and a few european models.
bit more research and turned up a few cross reference to other manufacturers catalogues and gave a local car parts dealer a call with the numbers. They didn't have them in stock, but will have them for me tomorrow for the nice sum of £17 each ($25.84) + tax = £20.40 each ( $31 each)
So for £61.20 ( $93) I have got a brand new set of injectors, I don't think I could have these sent away and serviced for that price
