Ocelot's fuel level float won't. Sinks right to the bottom of the tank. When I remove the filler door and peek inside with a flashlight, I don't see any tubes impinging on it. If I then lift the float arm with a coat hanger, it doesn't feel hung up, comes up very easily. When I lift the float, the red low fuel light goes out; let it drop, comes back on. I think that ten years immersed in a tank full of whatever you call that stuff with a hideous stench which gasohol too long in the tank turns into waterlogged this float.
Anyone else had this problem? Anyone found something to clamp onto the float arm to replace this float with? Or a way to drain the waterlogged float and seal it up so it will float again?
I have a gasket for the bottom hatch. Hope to remove it tomorrow. This will be just about Ocelot's last detail to fix before she's 100%.
Unmitigated risk aversion is the new Puritanism, complete with witch hunts, funny outfits, and solemn preachers thundering doom. The name of God is changed to Safety; the name of Satan is changed to Lawyer; but the object remains the same: to suck all the life out of life and make you live on the husk.
