Clutch Lever Sensor

Has anyone dealt with a faulty clutch lever sensor? My bike only starts in neutral right now which isn't ideal if that sensor goes...

I swear every one of those f-ing plunger switches is faulty on my bike right now. Looks like the clutch one is actually attached to the Chassis Harness? Do I just short it and say screw it? Or splicing a new plunger in its place?

Thanks.

If you short it then the starter will spin the engine when it's in gear with the clutch engaged.

Why not just replace the switch?

Guess I didn't realize all the plunger switches are the same part number.

Thanks.

Anyone know if the newer (post '85) rear brake plunger switch can be attached to an 1985 model without any mods? I see one on beemer oneyard cheap and no doubt is a better design...
