Chain Tensioning Rail & Chain Guide

Thanks to Mr. Duck I have the BMW maintenance schedule for K-Models.

As I look to ensure that my trusty '93 K75S is ready for another summer adventure beside the fluid changes I see a requirement to "Renew the lining of the chain tensioning rail & chain guide every 36,000.*".

I cannot this has ever been done to my now 66k mile brick.

So should I plan on performing this procedure? Just check?

NO problems with the bike.

Thanks,

Nick

I remember my chain guides showing considerable wear (but not worn through) at the 100,000 mile mark. 36,000 change seems ridiculous to me. At 66K, I would put on my list to do in the future, but I don't believe you have an immediate problem.
