Want to verify compatibility
I have been researching this for a while, but have had trouble finding a answer that is specific enough to confidently purchase parts. I would really appreciate it a ton if you guys could verify my findings and maybe expand on my current knowledge.
First some background, on my 1991 K100RS my forks are in need of rebuilding or replacing. I have seals to replace, but I can't seem to find the internal slides/shims to fully rebuild my forks. If anyone knows were to get those, that would be great as well. But my real question is: can I just replace my forks with a set a K1100 (or other) forks? If so, which models are compatible? From my understanding I can do so, but I can't seem to find what years/models work, or if I need to triple clamps and such as well. I would really like to do this, since I am a decent sized guy, often ride with cargo and passengers, and generally like a stiffer ride.
If the above is possible without and machining (direct bolt on) what additional if any parts do I need? Such as brake calipers, brackets, triple clamps, wheel...ect.
Thank you all so much for your time. It really helps when I can verify my own findings with the words of experts.
