As long as the ice threat is nil I'll be riding as deep into the season as possible. The day I picked up my GT I rode home 250 miles in 35 rain/sleet/snow. Now that was fun on new tires. The real threat isn't the cold, it's that the cages aren't expecting motorcycles out in cold weather.
I rode to work today in Chicago and I didn't even think about heated gear. Or a layer under my commuter suit, just work clothes. It got to 70 F here.
But you're right. Snow is inevitable and when there's the possibility of ice on the roads, I won't ride. But there will still be days in December, January, February that are warm enough to ride. And by then we can start looking forward to sprint. and in the mean time, enjoy the weather we get!
