Storage Space

I have acquired a '02 K1200RS and having taken a couple of trips with it, I am quite pleased with it with the exception of the lack of storage space ( in comparison to the Sprint ST it replaced ). It has a Staintune exhaust and seemingly enough space to allow for a full size bag on the exhaust side rather than the smaller one that BMW makes to allow to for the stock exhaust. Does anyone know of a solution to being able to fit a full size bag? Many thanks.

If you have the stock bags already, you can keep both bags and fit the new type deep touring lids. That then makes the small left side bag actually usable and more space in the right bag. If yours are color matched I think you'd have to get them painted. I can't remember what I paid now, but it wasn't horrendous and I spent about an hour fitting them on and swapping over the BMW logo.

My top case stays on the bike and the side bags go on for trips away. If I ever needed more space on city commutes, I still have the old lids which make slicing through traffic a bit easier.
