Darien Jacket

I'm on the lookout for a new jacket and I keep coming back to the Aerostich Darien. My main requirement is that the jacket has it's goretex membrane laminated into the outer layer so as any rain just runs off the jacket instead of soaking into it.
Is there anyone here has one of these jackets and could give me some useful advice.

Don't Panic.

Darien Jacket

I have been wearing mine for 4 years. It is the most water resistant jacket I have ever had.
My experance in heavey rain with this jacket may only be 10 or 12 times, but I can not remember the outer shell feeling like it had absorbed much water. Yes it gets wet, but it also drys out quick. I do wash it every year in the soap they recomend, I think that helps keep the shell from absorbing much water.
Get the pants also they work just as great as the jacket.

Ride safe.

It's quite water resistant. It's surprising cool in hot weather due to lack of lining. What I never liked about it was the way the padding was attached. Never felt it was that secure.
