Mixing tires?

All,
I've got 6700 miles on my stock tires on my 05 K1200S, and the rear tire is starting to get on the wear indicators. I really don't ride that aggressive as you can tell, and am looking for a longer-wear tire to replace the rear tire. However, the front has plenty of tread and I'm concerned about mix and match.

The stock tires are Bridgestone Battleax 190/50/17. Thanks for your recommendations/thoughts/inputs.

I mixed Bridgestone tires: a BT014 front with a BT020 rear on my K12RS. Good combination at the time, IMHO. The manufacturer says they don't recommend mixing types even within their own family. I personally have mixed types many times in my 40 years of riding. Certainly don't mix bias with radial, other than that it's a matter of weight and speed compliance. The idea behind the 014/020 combo was to match wear and increase braking performance.
