2005 LT tires

Co-worker has one of these and it is tire time. Has 020 bridgestones now that are cupped big time and the rear is just wore in the middle. He likes to travel with his wife with loaded luggage and is not an aggressive rider. What is a good milage tire for him? Sport touring tires are not on his mind because he is a proffessional flatlander.
Thanks == Bobby

How easy is it to get the rear wheel off the bike?

Metzler is the mileage king as long as you keep the tire properly inflated. 42 front 48-50 rear (I know it's more than what BMW recommends, but these pressures provide the best mileage). 21K miles in front and 16-18K in rear is not unheard of. But speed also determines how fast it will wear.

I have personally gotten 16K front and rear from my Metz when I had an LT. When I started riding it like I stole it, they were shot around 9K miles.

For additional info, our sister site www.bmwlt.com has thousands of posts on tires brands, and tire combinations.
