Question Pirelli

Anyone running Pirelli Diablo or Pirelli Strada?

Wondering on grip and wear differences.

Running Avon's and like them, but always looking for something better.

Not tried them yet but on my list

I've typically run Metzler Z6's but my current set is Avon ST45/46. I like the Avons as they feel softer than the Z6. A question is what sort of mileage are you getting with the Avons? I have nearly 5000 on my set and I'm getting ready to leave on a 3000+ trip...there is still a fair bit of tread above the wear bars but I'm concerned I may be pushing them on the way home from the trip.

Corsa IIIs

They grip like a great tire should, even in the cold/wet. I have close to 3k on mine and the back is starting to look questionable.

I'll prolly replace it for the 1700 mile ride home.

Hope that helps,

My wife and I have 4 bikes between us and they are all on Pirelli Stradas, Diablos or Diablo Corsas. Have 2500 plus on the Stadas which I use on the ST and they are an outstanding tire in the wet or dry. I ride pretty aggressively and my best guess is that I will get 6000-6500 out of the rear tire. I ride with the Pirelli Diablo Corsas on the street and track with the R1. I get 2500-3000 out of the rear depending on if it goes to the track or not. Wife has regular Diablos on her R1100S and will probably get 4000-5000 out of the rear tire. She is pretty light and is not as throttle happy as I am. It would be hard for me to think about using another tire. One of their best qualities is that they warm up quick and are very neutral handlers.

Corsa III

Cords showing at 3,000 miles. 1800 of those were cross country from New Orleans to Las Vegas.

Front Corsa is wearing ok but 6k is all I expect to get.

Best,

Gravity

Anyone have good/bad things to say about the Pirelli Diablo's? Warm up time, grip?

Thanks!

Bong:
I have used them a couple of times. When Cycle Gear has the sale on them. They are not Corsa's. I would say that I am a moderately agressive rider. I typically ride my S on mountain type roads where I get to - get on it. I have not felt any sliding whatsoever. Again I am not an all out grind the pegs down rider. I have no chicken strip on the rear tire. They warm up pretty fast and seem good in the rain. I try not to ride in the rain, so I have limited time with these tires in the rain.

I streched my last set to 4,000 miles. Honestly I think the last 500 miles was pushing it. How much do I like them, enough to have ordered them again.
