power for xm

Hope I post this to the right spot.
I want to install an INNO xm radio on my K1200S and use the car kit. Can I take the power adapter that plugs into the car cigarette lighter/accessory plug and cut the plug off? Find which is the power/ground wires and attach to the parking light under the front fairing?

Never mind above q!

I found at Cycle Gadgets the wiring necessary to get power to the base unit of my xm.
