You start by taking off the plastics including the front. You've wisely bought about 6 or 8 instrument bulbs before you started right?
Then you pull out each bulb with its rubber thingy and change all the blackened and blown one's. In fact, since you've discovered how much work is involved, If you haven't already, you'll be checking out the headlamp ground wire and replace the high/low beam and parking bulbs.
When you've finished and insured yourself with some lamp longevity, you'll be thinking, 'glad I don't have to do this at the roadside'.
